Warren and Sharon Dovel of Penn Laird and Pete and Debby Sheuchenko of Barboursville have announced the engagement of their daughter, Kari Elizabeth Sheuchenko of Gainesville and formerly of Harrisonburg, to Mario Antonio Mitchell of Gainesville.

Mitchell is the son of Stephen Mitchell and the late Christeta Hermata Mitchell.

Sheuchenko graduated from Spotswood High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and management from George Mason University. She is a sales manager with Toll Brothers in South Riding.

Mitchell received a Bachelor of Science degree in sports medicine from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a real estate agent with I-Agent Realty in Northern Virginia.

An April 23, 2010, wedding is planned in Charleston, S.C.
