I read these letters and sometimes it’s hard resisting the temptation to write. For weeks, I’ve seen Obama and his attempts compared with socialism, communism, fascism, totalitarianism. Racism seems a constant subject in the news.

So far, he has been claimed to be the devil spawn, compared to Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini. Now some yutz likened him to Jim Jones and the Manson Family (“Obama Is Killing The Country,” Oct. 17).

Maybe he keeps his head closely shaved to prove he doesn’t have horns; have you looked? I haven’t seen any. I saw a man who took on the country in its worst economy in years. He’s attempting to reform a health care system that needs it.

As far as I’ve seen, compared to some of these insane letters published, freedom of speech hasn’t been touched. My last letter asked that we remember that we’re all Americans. How on earth have we forgotten that so easily? I guess it’s too much to ask.
